Choose flowmeter technology by application
Electromagnetic (mag) flow meters
For electrically conductive liquids such as treated water, wastewater, brine and many slurries. No internal obstruction. Check liquid conductivity, liner/electrode compatibility, electrode grounding and full-pipe conditions.
Ultrasonic flow meters
Clamp-on transit-time models measure suitable liquids without cutting the pipe; in-line ultrasonic suits permanent systems. Verify pipe material, wall thickness, fluid acoustic properties, bubbles and straight-run constraints.
Diesel & fuel meters
Positive displacement, turbine and Coriolis choices depend on viscosity, batch size, accuracy, air entrainment and transaction requirements. Do not assume a water magnetic meter can measure diesel.
Gas & compressed-air meters
Thermal mass, ultrasonic, vortex, turbine and DP methods serve different gas duties. Confirm actual versus standardized units, pressure, temperature, composition, hazardous area and compensation requirements.
Coriolis mass flow meters
Direct mass flow measurement for high-value liquid and some gas duties, with density/temperature information where configured. Specify turndown, pressure loss, vibration and wetted compatibility.
Steam & utility metering
Vortex, differential-pressure and other technologies can be appropriate for saturated/superheated steam and plant utilities; correct process sizing and steam quality are essential.
Pipe sizes: DN15 to DN1200 and larger project lines
Typical RFQs describe DN15, DN20, DN25, DN40, DN50, DN65, DN80, DN100, DN150, DN200, DN250, DN300, DN400, DN500, DN600, DN800, DN1000 or DN1200. A nominal diameter alone is not a selection basis. Tell us the pipe’s actual internal diameter, schedule, lining and flow rate. Not every meter principle is manufactured for every size.

Supply, installation and calibration requests
AMAC accepts new project BOQs, OEM replacements, field evaluations, calibration and repair enquiries, plus integration requirements for 4–20 mA, HART, pulse, Modbus and PLC/SCADA outputs. For custody-transfer or regulated metering, specify the exact mandatory metrological approval and governing project standard rather than assuming every industrial meter is suitable.
Common questions from Saudi procurement teams
Can a magnetic flowmeter measure diesel fuel?
No. Conventional electromagnetic flowmeters need adequate electrical conductivity; petroleum diesel is generally non-conductive. Evaluate PD, turbine, Coriolis or other suitable fuel technologies instead.
Which meter works without shutting down a water line?
A correctly selected external clamp-on ultrasonic meter may avoid invasive pipework; acoustic conditions and accuracy still need assessment.
What if I have only an OEM part number?
Send the complete manufacturer name, part number, serial/nameplate photo, quantity, application and delivery destination. We can evaluate the replacement request before quoting.
